Music & Performances

Each year we play host to some great entertainers and musicians from Seattle and all around the Northwest. Engaging street performers and local buskers will be keeping the streets alive with impromptu music, acts, and dancing throughout the weekend. We will also be showcasing up-and-coming artists and well-established bands on our stage, equipped with great sound systems and plenty of room for dancing.

Electro Swing band Good Co has flown straight out of the Roaring 20’s to bring that growling speakeasy sound but with an added dash of that electronic funk so desperately needed in today’s hectic workaday world. Live performance is mixed with the sounds of yesterday.

12:00 Graceland Manila Tribute to The King

A fun loving Rock’n Roll soulful tribute band complete with Elvis jumpsuit. GM was able to Rock’n Roll the UDistrict crowd last year and hope to rock again this year!

EveryLeaf plays authentic, compelling Country/Americana/Roots/Blues-Rock. Members come to the band with backgrounds that include country music, LA flash-rock, church, musical theater and the pub-rock grind. Our music is country/blues/rock, with a broad sense of what that includes. It’s all great music, and performing it very well is what drives us!

Purr Gato makes you want to move and feel, groove and sway, and get lost in the beats that vibrate through every fiber of your being. 10:00 Tumbuka

TUMBUKA is a marimba band that plays African music drawn from traditional and contemporary styles. The Shona word “tumbuka” means to flower or burst out.

Lopii is an alternative duo composed of twin sisters Olivia and Katie Lopez. Their dreamlike and sometimes moody music has been compared to such artists as Edie Brickell and Carole King.

12:00 Murphy Tyler Band

Mairin Murphy and Jacob Tyler offer a unique musical experience to their audiences. Mairin and Jacob’s renditions of classic R&B, Soul, Blues and Jazz selections are original and compelling. Powerful emotion-driven classics like A Change is Gonna Come, Believe, God Bless the Child, Hallelujah and I’d Rather Go Blind find new vitality and inspiration. The Murphy-Tyler Band also delivers driving versions of up tempo classics like Aretha Franklin’s Since You’ve Been Gone, Sam and Dave’s Soul Man.

Signal Flags is a collaboration of like-minded musicians from different walks of life. While firmly rooted in the traditions of classic rock, they implement their ideas originally and thoughtfully. Mixing such styles as country-rock, garage, reggae, folk, 70’s pop, 90’s alternative – Signal Flags keeps their audience riding high and feeling free. 3:00 Jazz Underground

Jazz Underground is a Seattle-based group that plays contemporary big band jazz. Their repertoire includes music from the libraries of Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Stan Kenton, and Duke Ellington, as well as music by jazz greats like John Coltrane and Miles Davis. In addition, the group performs music by local composers and original composition by members of the band.

Special Performances By:

Roosevelt High School Drum Line

The Roosevelt High School Drum Line’s 18 members are from the school’s award winning jazz, symphonic and marching bands. This studen-run ensemble is comprised of musicians ages 14-18. They perform at community events in the greater Seattle area, as well as in Portland, OR and Westminster, BC.
